Magic (In The Night)
Copyright 2007 Bill Gaunce
Dedicated to the memory of my friend David Brown, drummer in my first band.
Floating on the Milky Way
Counting all the stars in your eyes
Holding your breath with anticipation
Waiting for your twilight surprise
And darkness falls and softly calls
Everything is gonna be alright
Oh, oh ,oh, oh, oh,
There’s magic in the night
Oh, oh ,oh, oh, oh,
There’s magic in the night
Drifting along the constellations
Stopping by to see an old friend
He looks just like the day he left
“I’ll see you soon” as we head ‘round the bend
We wave good-bye and moving on
He slowly fades out of sight
Oh, oh ,oh, oh, oh,
There’s magic in the night
Oh, oh ,oh, oh, oh,
There’s magic in the night
And darkness falls and softly calls
Everything is gonna be alright
Oh, oh ,oh, oh, oh,
There’s magic in the night
Oh, oh ,oh, oh, oh,
There’s magic in the night

Description
|
Short Song Description: Tried to capture the floating "magical" feel and mood of an actual dream I had. Going for "haunting" in a good way.
|
Story Behind the Song: Inspired by a dream in which I took my wife on sort of a "tour" to visit some departed friends of mine whom she had never met or gotten to know.
